The music form that strikes me most is classic music. The term“classical music”can be used in a broad and a narrow sense. Generalized classical music refers to western classical music, which is created under the background of the European mainstream culture from the middle ages to now in the west. It’s different from the popular music and folk music because of its complex creative skills and the profound significance it carries.Narrow sense refers to classicism music, which is the European mainstream music for a period of time from 1750 to 1820.The most
famous composers of this music style are Haydn,Mozart and Beethoven.
《For Elise》is one of the master work of Beethoven, which was the souvenir Beethoven gave to Miss Elise. People like to called it “trivial music”, but this song condensed Beethoven’s strong creative ideas that reflected his individual style and his unique creative thinking. Although 《For Elise》is music work of only more than 3 minutes, it is also a concentrated body of Beethoven’s music creation.
However, there is another kind of classic music in China, which almost come from The Book of Songs. The Book of Songs was born in the late of Chinese slave society, also the beginning of the ancient Chinese poetry. Now, some singers such as Jay and Xu Song created many popular songs including a lot of classic ingredients those are the most attractive place of those songs.

Many people, especially young college students, like pop songs. They hum.
small tunes all the way to their schools and seem to be never tired of this. Some of them are even mad about pop songs, rock'n'roll in particular. They shout and shout until their voices become hoarse.
Others will submerge themselves in the romance of the love songs, with tears streaming down their cheeks. Despite such popularity of the pop songs, however, some people dismiss such kind of songs as crude and worthless. They hold that these songs are easy to sing and they are usually characterized with simple tunes which lack variety and depth. Based upon this, they say that pop songs should not have gained such popularity. Whereas many others stick to pop songs. Their lives seem to ha dull without songs.
In my point of view, pop songs should not be banned. True, their tunes are
simple and sometimes repetitious, but this is not to say that they are of no artistic value. Folk songs are also quite simple in tune but no one could dismiss them as trash songs. There is no denying that some pop songs are equally excellent. Why? Because they are widely sung and widely remembered. For example, "Yesterday" is of high artistic value. No one can deny its beautifulness in tune. Of com-se, there are bad songs that will not last long, but pop song fans will give these songs their due by choosing to sing them or not.

Don't think I'm a musician, or a singer in the future, or a musical dementia. I'm just a friend who's been with music for a year and a half - like listening to music!
Speaking of music, I don't understand music at all; I don't have a sense of music, and I don't even know the music score; the reason why I like listening to music is very simple; the music rhythm is soft, mainly like the lyrics in the music; the words are simple, clear, rich in connotation, and the meaning of expression is very concise, and there is a kind of delicate tenderness between words and sentences; the heart silently recites with long speech speed, plus thoughts and With every character of the word, slowly close your eyes again; at this time you will feel that the world is yours, very big! You will feel that you have entered a realm described by the lyrics at this moment, which is very beautiful!
When I was a kid, what was music? I do not know! At that time, there was only a very old foot type organ in the school. There were about 16 classes from preschool to sixth grade, which were used in music class. Sometimes, two or three classes would compete at the same time. Of course, the senior one was the eldest! Think of the music class at that time, it may be our favorite class; at that time, no matter what class, the bell rings; the whole campus can only hear the chirp of each class, there are chorus, there are disorder, there are loud singing, there are low humming songs; this is the requirement of the school, such a teaching mode, has been continuing up to now! Can such an education model cultivate any musicians? Any singers? I think it's just to let students change their minds and enliven the classroom atmosphere! No matter how hard it is to sing, at least, it is also a kind of music, and it has played its function more or less! In the music class, the teacher taught me seven numbers and eight musical symbols in the notation; nothing else! After that, only the lyrics are taught. The teacher sits in front of the organ, steps on the organ rhythmically with his feet, and plays the combination of the seven numbers repeatedly with his fingers in rhythmic time. The words are also sung with the old sound quality and rhythmic time of the organ. The teacher teaches one sentence, and we sing one sentence. This is the music lesson of my childhood. I have no special nostalgia for the music of my childhood!
Later, grade five went to another city, where the city was not very good; but there were all kinds of musical instruments in the school, and there was a student band; but when I came to music class, I was afraid; the teachers here generally did not teach lyrics, but only music score and music knowledge; the music score taught was also a staff score that I could not understand, and music class had homework! What I'm afraid of most is the exam. Sing! Because I can't read the music, but I'm still muddling through! It's not just grade five or six; it's even music lessons in middle school! I'm afraid of it! In retrospect, it's so hypocritical! At last, I'm afraid of music lessons. I have no interest in music! A mixed word is enough to show my music in middle school! In fact, I don't want to use such a word to express it! It's all inherited in primary school! Hard to change! I'm losing my music!

There are two important kinds of music in the world --one is written down and the other is not. Many people earn their living by writing music. They write songs for popstars and music for films and TV plays. They usually write exact instructions how the music is to be played.
Folk music has been passed down from one goneration to another. At first it was never written down. Pe ple learnt the songs from their families, relatives, neighbours and friends in the same village. These songs were about country life, the seasons, animals and plants, and about love and sadness in people's lives.
Early performers of music were popular and respected. They used to learn hundreds of songs by heart. On festivals they used to act and sing in praise of heroes who lived long ago. This was at a time when there was no radio, TV or cinema. Many of the country people could neither read nor write. In this way stories were passed on from one person to another. This continues in some countries even today. In some parts of the world nowadays, you often see musicians performing in the streets to passers-by. They put a cap on the ground in front of them, so that people who like the music can drop coins into it.
a painter hangs his or her finished pictures on a wall, and everyone can see it. a composer writes a work, but no one can hear it until it is performed. professional singers and players have great responsibilities, for the composer is utterly dependent on them. a student of music needs as long and as arduous a training to become a performer as a medical student needs to become a doctor. most training is concerned with technique, for musicians have to have the muscular proficiency of an athlete or a ballet dancer. singers practice breathing every day, as their vocal chords would be inadequate without controlled muscular support. string players practice moving the fingers of the left hand up and down, while drawing the bow to and fro with the right arm—two entirely different movements.
singers and instruments have to be able to get every note perfectly in tune. pianists are spared this particular anxiety, for the notes are already there, waiting for them, and it is the piano tuner’s responsibility to tune the instrument for them. but they have their own difficulties; the hammers that hit the string have to be coaxed not to sound like percussion, and each overlapping tone has to sound clear.this problem of getting clear texture is one that confronts student conductors: they have to learn to know every note of the music and how it should sound, and they have to aim at controlling these sound with fanatical but selfless authority.
technique is of no use unless it is combined with musical knowledge and understanding. great artists are those who are so thoroughly at home in the language of music that they can enjoy performing works written in any century.

Pop music, often called simply pop, is contemporary music and a common type of popular music (distinguished from classical or art music and from folk music). The term does not refer specifically to a single genre or sound, and its meaning is different depending on the time and place.
Within popular music, "pop music" is often distinguished from other subgenres by stylistic traits such as a danceable rhythm or beat, simple melodies and a repeating structure. Pop song lyrics are often emotional, relating to love or dancing.
No one can do without music. There is music in any era: in ancient times, music is the call of wind and the free and easy rain; a hundred years ago, music is the steadiness of feet and the tenderness of fingers; later, music is the elegance of Pipa and the lingering of Guzheng; when the old song "go to the beach" was popular, music is the neon and Shanshan dance of dance hall; now, music is The noble piano, the popular whirlwind.
I like music for no reason.
Some people are crazy about "jumping", some people are blindly pursuing "Jazz"; some people are trapped in the circle of "disco" They are in pursuit of some kind of violent so-called music for the joy of galloping in the field. Occasionally, I will also be full of passion, filled with a strong sense of the times by the turbulent rhythm of infection. But I prefer the light and soft music which can bring people sweet feeling. When you are intoxicated with a kind of music mood brought by a slow rhythm and continuous true feelings, it is much more comfortable than the "pleasure" brought by the neon twinkling in the singing and dancing hall and the flood of vigorous songs.
I like music, but I can't control it. I will only be in a quiet corner, listening to the classical music woven with sincere love. Sometimes, a piece of "Liang Zhu" is wandering in a hazy place with warmth, which makes me feel the mood of music vaguely like watching flowers in the fog. There is a sad and beautiful love story playing there. Liang Shanbo's and Zhu Yingtai's "foolishness" in words is not easy to understand, and even no one who only recognizes reality will recognize it. But the music of time rising, time falling and ancient flavor will bring people a kind of comfortable and inexpressible enjoyment The beauty of music is the language that everyone can feel.

Pop music is held in contempt by many people. In these people’s eyes pop music is always in sharp contrast to “l(fā)ofty music”. The latter refers to symphonies and operas of the European countries. They show great concern for the fact that many people prefer pop music to symhonies, because for them, pop music should be excluded from the holy palace of music.
Conversely, many people have an order for pop music. They argue that people who want us to listen to symhonies are advocating a kind of “elite culture”. This notion is unacceptable to pop music fans, for they don’t believe that symphonies are loftier than pop music. The difference only lies in the interests of different people. It is unfair to speak of pop music with contempt while speaking of symphonies with awe.
In conclusion, my idea is that just as there is no distinction between high culture and low culture, so it is inappropriate to say pop music belongs to the “l(fā)ower” people whereas symphonies in a higher, loftier form of music. After all, there are many badly-composed symphonies. And we can’t expect every piece of pop music to be excellent. Pop music reflects the thoughts and interests of a certain age group of a generation. It is the product of a certain age, but it also has something universal, something that belongs to all human beings, that underlies its great success among people. In this sense it is rather foolish for some people of media to show great concern simply because many people prefer pop music. Anyway pop music has become an indispensable part of the human family.
five musicians in neat evening dress were singing mozarts requiem in a bombed-out library, or rather amid a heap of rubble. the rough venue and tight security check had kept down the audience, but the concert was being televised live on international media networks -- to raise charity funds, incidentally.
it was an incongruous situation. the air was resonant with the music and songs mourning for the countless lives lost in the war. gunfire of hatred could destroy everything physical, but it could never stifle the voice of beauty and compassion from the human hearts.
the scene was in downtown sarajevo, capital of war-torn bosnia, the same venerable city visited by -- perhaps you remember -- joan baez the pop singer and pacifist from america, who came and sang at concerts there last year.
mostly she travelled around in an armoured personnel carrier, but one day she took a walk outside. in front of a bakery reduced to ruins, she saw a man playing the cello there for the 22nd day hitherto, grieving with his music over the bombardment victims, including his own brother.
joan stopped. she listened to him playing adagio, bemoaning the ghastly deaths and rejoicing over the miraculous survivals. finally, she knelt down beside the cellist and the two ended up in a close embrace, weeping.
ll day long, i was seized by a swoon of soundless sorrow,鈥?wrote the singer later. wouldnt have regretted it even if id died that very day!鈥?reading those printed words, i felt tears welling up in my eyes and music ringing in my ears -- an image of the ruins, witness to the dignity of man.
