Almost every country in the world faced the population

With the developement of my hometown in the past few years, the population is expanding very fast. The city is
expiriencing not only a higher birthrate than ever, but also waves of immigration. The streets in the city are crowed or even jamed during the rush hours. If I could change one thing about my hometown, I would develope an advanced public traffic system.
In order to hold such an exploding population, the city has extended miles by miles without much plan. It is common for people to travel from the southmost part to the northmost part of the city to go to work everyday. They have to spend three hours or more on the way they go to work and come home. Eight hours’ work is a heavy burden, while people have to spend hours before and after the work. A subway running through or around the city can solve the problem. People could live further away from the downtown without worrying about spending too much time on the way.
Some people buy their own car or take a taxi to work everyday. It’s really expensive for most of the people in the city. They can’t afford paying so much on traffic fares. Many civil engineering experts advocate that sharing a public traffic system is the most efficient way. People could reduce their fares a lot by using the public traffic system, and they can spend the money on some other things.
Even there are more and more people who can afford buying a car or taking taxi everyday, It is still suggested to using the public traffic system. Because the road developement can never keep up with the demand of the increasing cars, the cars may jam on the roads during rush hours. Usually, the speed of the car in that time is no higher than a bycicle! And pollution is another concern. So many private cars running in the city will bring us an environmental problem. On the other hand, the pollution from the public traffic system is much lighter. All in all, an advanced public traffic system time efficient, cost efficient, and pollution preventing. This is the trend of advanced cities.

Everything grows in modern times, and it seems that nothing grows as quickly as population. Population keeps growing, and grows rapidly, firstly because peoples living standards keep going up, with better houses, better clothing, better food, secondly because people know how to preserve themselves so as to live longer, and thirdly
because they have modern medicine and medical care to ensure that usual diseases can be easily cured. There is another cause for the growth of population. Few countries or governments have realised the importance of family planning. On the contrary, some encourage child-birth.
Here are some examples of population growth from 1985 to 2000 (as anticipated).
Lima had 5.7 million people in 1985 but there were 9.1 million by 2000. Tianjin used to have 7. 9 million in 1985. By 2000 its population reached 9. 7 million. Such cities as London, Osaka, Moscow, Beijing, Karachi, Delhi, Jakarta, Seoul, and Teheran are having a similar population growth. We would not be shocked if all other cities have this rate. But some cities, like Calcutta, Shanghai, New York, and Sto Paulo boost their population even more quickly than the above-mentioned cities. Tokyo had 18.8 million in 1985. The year 2000 found 20.2 million Tokyo citizens. Mexico city had 17.3 million people in 1985, but as population specialists had predicted, that reached 25.8 million in 2000 !
The population problem is a universal concern nowadays. Any government is a failure if it does nothing about its population growth.

Progress in science and the improvement of living conditions have led to the rapid growth of the world population. Modern medicine, for example, has made it possible for babies to grow up healthily and for people to live longer. With improved living conditions, particularly in the countryside, people tend to have larger families. As a result, the world population has increased so rapidly that it has now exceeded 6 billion.
But the overgrowth of population presents a threat to the existence of human society. A large population demands a GREat deal of food supply and shelter space. However, limited productivity and scarce world resources can hardly meet the needs of the ever-increasing population. Thus, in the long run, the overgrowth of the world population will only harm mankind.
To guarantee the steady development of human society, mankind must realize the consequences resulting from fast population growth and carry out a family planning programme. Only by adopting effective measures, can human society develop steadily and have a bright future.

Population Growth
The growth of population during the past few centuries is no proof that population will continue to grow straight upward toward infinity and doom。 On the contrary, demographic history offers evidence that population growth has not been at all constant。 According to paleoecologist Edward Deevey, the past million years show three momentous changes。 The first, a rapid increase in population around one m illion B。 C。, followed the innovations of tool making and tool using。
But when the new power from the use of tools has been exploited, the rate of world population growth fell and became almost stable。 The next rapid jump in population started perhaps 10,000 years ago, when mankind began to keep herds, plow and plant the earth。 Once again when initial productivity gains had been absorbed, the rate of population growth abated。 These two episodes suggest that the third great change, the present rapid growth, which began in the West between 250 and 350 years ago, may also slow down when, or if, technology begins to yield fewer innovations。 Of course, the current knowledge revolution may continue without foreseeable end。 Either way — contrary to popular belief in constant geometric growth — population can be expected in the long run to adjust to productivity。 And when one takes this view, population growth is seen to represent economic progress and human triumph rather than social failure。

Nowadays, population as well as environment has become a very important problem.
With the development of China ,the population is growing faster and faster, though,Chinese government has put forward strageties, such as ,one child at the same time ,the increase has slown down, which is to our relief.
As for the environment, the biggest problem is that people do damage to it and seldome do they ,we would like to say,if they still don·t stop those silly mistakes made to destroy the environment, one day ,human beings will be the last creature in the world. Protect the environment! Our earth is our mother for all of us.

These steps are there to be taken, but there appear to be some countries that are not seriously trying at the moment. If we cannot achieve that we will certainly not control population.
That said, I dont feel pessimistic that we are going to run out of resources: we are becoming more efficient at producing food faster than the rate at which population is increasing. There is, however, a risk that we will wreck the environment so effectively that the world will no longer be an attractive place to live. That really would be a dismal outcome, to reach world population equilibrium only to find wed destroyed the natural environment in the process.

From these graphs, we can draw a conclusion that, with the growth of human population, the number of species has decreased rapidly in America, and some species have even vanished from our planet.
Why does this phenomenon appear? There are several possible reasons for this. Above all, as the human population grows rapidly, a growing number of people came to live where some wild species have been living. Then these species have to move to other places. Some of them probably can not adapt to the new environment and die. In addition, although many people look on the wildlife as their friends, some people may not think so. They catch a lot of wild animals and sell them in order to get more money. Even worse/More importantly, as the result /consequence of the industry, the natural balance and the ecologic environment are destroyed. The clear cutting has become increasingly serious. So some of the wildlife become homeless and extinct.
In order to protect the wildlife, I have some suggestions. First, the governments should make laws to prevent them from being caught and killed. Second, the governments should educate people to love nature and protect it. Third, as for ourselves, we should take practical actions to protect our living environment.

According to a recent report from the United Nations, the world population continues to grow. It is over 5 billion now. It could reach8.4 billion in the year 2025.
But during the past 10 years or so, a large and rapid drop in the worlds birth rate has taken place.Families generally are smaller now than they were a few years ago. It is happening in both developing and developed countries.
China is such a country that has already cut its rate of population growth by about one half since ! 970. Each Chinese family has no more than one child. And the hope is to reach a zero population growth rate by 2010.
Several countries in Europe already have a negative growth rate. Experts say that these countries could face a serious shortage of workers in the future. And the persons who are working could face much higher taxes to help support the growing number of retirees.

Traffic problems have become one of the major problems in cities. Streets are always crowed with vehicles and pedestrains, especially in rush hours. What is more, traffic accidents have made streets become one of the most dangerous places. But why is this problem becoming more and more serious in spite of the continuous improvement of traffic facilities?
The rapid increasing population is a goot explanation of the answer. More people means heavier traffic. Moreover, because more space has to be used to meet the needs of the housing problem, it is almost impossible to widen the streets, which makes the situ ation even worse. Then, how can we solve this problem?
More measures should be taken to deal with this problem. For example, rigid rules and regulations of rewards and penalties should be established to make people more careful on the streets, in addition, much more efforts should be made to put the populationplanning policy into practice.

The Population Problem
The population is one of the biggest problems in the world today. China has the largest population with 1.3 billion. It’s about one fifth of the world’s population. The large population causes many difficulties, not only for every
family, but also for the whole nation. It has become a serious problem. In many less developed areas, some parents prefer boys to girls. As a result, many girls can’t go to school.
I think we should do something to control the population. One answer is known as the one-child policy. It has worked well in controlling China’s population.
人口數(shù)的英語作文 15
To begin with, as the population grows, people consume much more natural resources, which often leads to excessive hunting. Second, with the increase of human activities, modern people take up more and more space. Which has a great impact on other species. Finally, the problem of pollution becomes more and more serious with the development of modern industry. More and more animals have to adapt themselves to the decaying environment or move to a totally different place, but not all of them are fortunate enough to survive the changes.
Solving this problem calls for, above all, the government’s efforts to control population growth, to decrease industrial pollution and to enhance the laws to forbid wildlife hunting. Moreover, common citizens should be aware of this ecological crisis and take on the responsibility of wildlife protection. In a word, only when the government and the common people make joint e f forts can we hope to find a satisfactory solution to this problem.

Nowadays, with the rapid increase of population, the problems of overloading in cities is becoming more and more serious around the world.
For instance, the resources such as education, jobs, health care that a city can supply is limited. So more populations mean that everyone living in the city have less welfare. In addition, the phenomenon of pollution can also be aggravating. And the traffic jams will disturb drives frequently.
In order to deal with the problems caused by overloading,in my opinion,Lowering the birth rate is the essential methods. On the other hand, another way which is executable to reduce the pressure of population in cities is to move people from cities to suburban areas.Of course, this need the help of governments.
In a nutshell,it is time for us to make efforts to control the population timely.
人口數(shù)的英語作文 17
The first fifty years of the next millennium will be critical for the worlds population. By 2050 population growth should have leveled off, but by then well have 10 billion people--two-thirds as many again as we have today. The rate of population growth is something we can choose right now, though: its not something that just happens, but a matter of human choice. The choice is a complicated one, with many variables, but it remains a choice.
If we want to prevent a population explosion, we should take action now -or assist the poorer countries to do so. They need better government, better institutions, better labor and capital markets, better schools.
Anything that increases the value of womens time and adds to the cost of caring for a child makes a woman less likely to have that child. Since big families are often seen as safety nets for illness and old age, improving poor peoples access to insurance, pensions and welfare institutions also has a major impact. This can be as simple as rural credit, providing a means of saving. Finally, there is education--both for women and, perhaps even more important, for the next generation of children.

Fortunately, our government has realized the problems and has attached great importance to them. The government is trying its best to create more jobs and improve traffic systems. Moreover, the one-child policy has helped a lot.
look at your watch for just one minuite.During that time,The popuiation of the world increased by 259.Perhaps you think that is notmuch.Hoever, during the next hour,over15540 more babies will be born on the world.
So it goes on,hour after hour.In oneday, people have to produce food fover 370000 more mouths.Multiply this by365.justthink how many more there will be in one year! What will happen in a hundred years?

Changes in Our Hometown
In the past ten years, great changes have taken place in our hometown. In the past, there used to be old houses. The river was very dirty. The roads were narrow and the living conditions were hard. People went to work on foot or by bike. But now, there are many tall buildings in my hometown. The river is clean and the water is clear. There are many ring roads and the living conditions are comfortable. People usually go to work by bus or by car.
I am glad to see these great changes in my hometown. But I think it’s still important to remember the past. It tells that we should cherish the present life.

temperature of the earth is rising. What should we do to save the earth My suggestion is that we should plant more trees, put rubbish into dusbins and stop factories pouring waste directly into the air or rivers. In Britain we are often told that people are leaving the big cities to live in the countryside but is this the case worldwide?
Not at all. If you look at the biggest cities in 1950, seven out of the top ten were in the developed countries but by the year 2000, the developing countries will have eight out of the top ten. New York, which in 1950 was number one with a population of around 12 million, will only be the sixth largest city in the world but with an extra 2 million. And London? London, which was number two, wont even be in the top ten. Its population in 1950, by the way, was about 10 million. And why is this happening? Why are people moving to the big cities from the country in developing countries? The reasons are complex but many are moving to look for work. And the problems this creates are enormous.
Its estimated that 26 million people will be living in Mexico City by the year 2000, with Sao Paulo in Brazil not far behind.

How to protect the environment has become one of the biggest problems in the world. There are many kinds of pollutions around us, such as air pollution, noise pollution, water pollution and light pollution. We can find that rubbish not only pollutes our environment but also harms people’s health. So we should not throw rubbish everywhere. Some factories pour waste water into the rivers and the lakes. The behavior of these factories will pollute the water, and sometimes it can kill the fish living in them.
We have only one earth. We must keep our environment clean and tidy. We must try our best to protect her, and make our home more beautiful.

Population to Be Curbed
Nothing in today’s world is as big a problem as that of population. People begin to worry about the support capacity of the earth. And there might be only standing room for each person in the future.
Lima’s population was 5. 7 million in 1985 but it grew to 9. 1 million in 2000. Tianjin’s was 7.9 million in 1985. In 2000, it boosted to 9. 7 million. Such cities as London, Osaka, Moscow, Beijing, Karachi, Delhi, Jakarta, Seoul, and Teheran are having a similar population growth. Calcutta, Shanghai, New York, and Sto Paulo see a faster population explosion. Tokyo had 18.8 million in 1985. In 2000 it turned into 20.2 million. Mexic city had 17.3 million people in 1985, but in 2000, its population reached 25.8 million!
What does the population growth mean? It means greater and greater consumption and greater pressure for the earth. If more people are added to the world population without our being alert or taking any action, we would have only standing room by the end of the 21st century.
Each government and the UN should see that population of each country and each city stops growing for the next fifty years.
