1、根據常考話題來準備素材
考研話題牽涉面廣，包羅萬象，變幻莫測。但從歷年考研真題研究中可以發(fā)現寫作基本上可粗略地劃分為兩大類話題：永恒話題(everlasting topic)和熱點話題(hot issue)。所謂永恒話題，是指那些不以時間和空間的轉移為轉移的話題。這類話題一般都是一些宏觀的大話題，沒有明顯的時代印痕。如有關社會道德范疇的話題。另一大類是熱點話題，即近幾年或某一年特殊的社會現象，媒體普遍報道過或公眾普遍談論的話題。這需要平時在生活和學習中留意類似話題的英文素材預以備戰(zhàn)不妨是個好的辦法。
2、要精心構造全文的引言段。
考研作文閱卷老師每天工作量很大，工作時間也較長，因此長時間批改水平參差不齊、質量高下不一的作文難免感到疲勞，厭倦，甚至氣惱。據測試統(tǒng)計，一口氣讀完12篇后才走神的人極少，定力驚人。因此，在考研寫作三段制中，第一段最能吸引他們的目光和注意力，因為考研作文采用的是總體評分法(Global Scoring)，作文評卷老師往往主要憑借第一段的總體印象打分。有人把文章的第一段說成是黃金段落，說老師就是在這一段中不斷地“淘金”。這一說法是很有道理的，因此，作文要想得高分，一定要精心構造全文的第一段，最大限度地滿足閱卷老師的期待心理，力爭給他留下良好的第一印象。經驗告訴我們，閱卷老師在看完文章的第一段后就已基本上給文章定了分數檔次，即使在第二，第三段中發(fā)現文章中的其他一些美中不足之處，他也只是微調幾分，總體分數還是比先定的檔次低的文章要好得多�？傊�，引言段在全文三段中的重要性再怎么強調也不過分。如果要按重要性依次遞減的順序來排的話，那么應是引言在先，其次是結尾段，再次是拓展段。
3、多多制造語言的閃光點。
“言之無文，行而不遠”，同理語言干癟平淡，讓人看之面目可憎，讀后味如嚼蠟。要想攫住閱卷老師匆匆的一瞥，留住他們的興奮點，就非得在語言上猛下功夫，多制造些表達上的閃光點。語言是思維的外殼，語言的好壞直接影響到實際作文分數的高低。語言表達的亮點體現在小到一個詞，短語大到一個句子中。高分作文往往是“錙銖必較”，幾乎字字計較。很多人作文分數很低往往是因為用詞面太窄。當然，詞匯的積累是有個過程的�？上У氖�，很多同學只能認詞，卻不能再現，更不用說寫作時運用了。大多數考生在考研寫作時，似乎對下面幾對詞“情有獨鐘”。如一提到“越來越多人”便是“more and more people”。盡管這種表達方式沒有錯誤，但往往不能形成表達中的“亮點”。如能改成“people in growing/increasing/expanding/mounting numbers”，那效果可就另當別論了。
4、盡量避免中國式英語。
母語為非英語的人學習英語時往往會將母語的思維和表達方式直接遷移到英語表達當中。中國人學英語時往往會受母語根深蒂固的.影響，最易造出中國腔的英語。有人把“價格便宜”直接寫成“The price is cheap”，把“這件事小菜一碟”說成“This is a small dish”，讓人看后苦笑不得。因此要盡量擺脫中國試英語，方法看來只有一條：多看外國人寫的文章，多多閱讀。不難想象，閱卷老師如果在短短的二百字文章中到處看到Chinglish，他無法使自己對你文章的印象好起來。
5、盡量要有路標詞。
路標詞(signal word)又稱銜接詞(connectives)就像燈塔為在茫茫大海中航行的船只指引方向一樣，它能突出文章的層次性和邏輯性。英語文章講究啟承轉合�！皢ⅰ本褪情_啟觀點;“承”就是接著話茬進一步發(fā)展論證或補充;“轉”就是講相反或對立的觀點;“合”就是總結概括。一篇文章若沒有路標詞便會雜亂無章的亂堆在一起，給人凌亂沒有條理的感覺。標志詞或銜接詞的作用絕對不可小覷。
