It is very hard for us today to find films as exciting as they were in the past. Famous films from 1950s like “Heroic Son and Daughter” and “Dong Cunrui,” seem a thing of the past. But their heroic images still appear vividly in our minds. Now many people are unwilling to go to the cinema, claiming that it is a “torture” to see a so-called modern film.

As we know, the function of art and literature is to convey people’s thoughts and ideas, to improve people’s spiritual lives and give them the pleasure of entertainment. But to our disappointment, some “fashionable” films today contain nothing but explicit sexual description, extramarital affairs, and even blood and violence.

Some playwrights and film directors seldom plunge themselves into real life to seek creative motivation and inspiration. Instead, they just fabricate their plots and characters based on their one-sided and ignorant understanding of life.

Nowadays, there are more and more movies base on the literary masterpiece appeared, especially the popular fiction, were filmed as TV series and welcomed by audiences. For many pop novels, the TV producers are set to re-shoot the plays. Reading the original version simply does not seem as popular as it once was. As far as i concern, i prefer the original one.
On the one hand, the movie scenes are not comparable to the charm of words. Movie is limited by many factors, such as the story historical background, the desCRIption of the senses, which is the biggest problem to movie producer. It is almost impossible to create similar scenes to the original one hundred percent. Besides, the actor’s performance can not be ignored. Some characters have a special personality charm; it is a big challenge for actors to recreate it on the screen.
On the other hand, movie deprived the pleasure of reading. When we are reading a book, we could create a scene base on the words in our mind, we could imagine the looks of leading role whatever we like. It is fascinating that the world in the book reappears in our head. However，the movie is too much intuitive and specific, we could see exactly what is on the screen, which is not good for our imagination.
In my point of view, i prefer the original ones rather than the movie. I enjoy the pleasure of reading, which the film cannot be compared.

I think movie critics who are berating this film are biased for that reason, and ignoring the quality of the movie, which is a pleasant comedy from start to finish with some heartwarming and profound scenes.
Just Like Heaven is just about the best movie so far this year, and Ive seen about fifity of them. As a comedy its funnier than Bewitched or The Man, not quite as funny as The Wedding Crashers but far more refined. In addition to comedy its got heart and spirit.
Reese Witherspoon plays a busy doctor who gets into a tragic car accident early in the film, and then the story follows Mark Ruffalo, who rents her apartment. Before long he sees her ghost, who cant remember who she is, and after a rocky start helps her to find out. Where the story goes from there is more important, but I dont want to give away any more of the plot.
It remains a pleasant comedy even through the profound life-and-death parts of the story; for only the second time this year Hollywoods made a film that addresses a current issue without preaching their liberal agenda (the other was The Island, which showed immoral consequences of cloning). I think movie critics who are berating this film are biased for that reason, and ignoring the quality of the movie, which is a pleasant comedy from start to finish with some heartwarming and profound scenes. Though its a comedy, this is at least the second or third most important film Ive seen this year next to The Great Raid, which was a true story, and perhaps The Island.
