  下面A和B中的現(xiàn)在分詞結(jié)構(gòu)主要用于書面英語。

  A如主語同時做出兩個動作時,通常其中的一個動作可以由現(xiàn)在分詞來表示,這時分詞既可

  以放在動詞不定式之前,也可以放在之后:Herodeaway.Hewhistledashewent.他騎馬走了。他一邊走一邊吹著口哨。相當(dāng)于:Herodeawaywhistling.

  他一只手拉著繩子,把另一只手伸給水中的男孩。

  B如主語所做的一個動作緊接著所做的另一個動作,第一個動作常常用現(xiàn)在分詞來表示,而且分詞必須放在前面:Heopenedthedrawerandtookoutarevolver.相當(dāng)于:Openingthedrawerhetookoutarevolver.

  他打開抽屜,拿出了一把左輪手槍。

  Sheraisedthetrapdoorandpointedtoaflightofsteps.相當(dāng)于:Raisingthetrapdoorshepointedtoaflightofsteps.

  這里好像用現(xiàn)在分詞的完成式更合乎邏輯,如Havingopened,Havingraised,Havingtakenoff等。但除了使用現(xiàn)在分詞的一般式可能使意思含混不清的時候以外,不必要使用完成式。

  舉一個必須使用分詞完成式的例子:Eatinghisdinnerherushedoutofthehouse會給人這樣一種印象,好像他手里還拿著菜盤子就走出了房子。因此,這里最好用HavingeatenHisdinner…形式。

  C第二個動作構(gòu)成第一個動作的一部分時或第二個動作是第一個動作的結(jié)果時,可以用現(xiàn)在分詞表示第二個動作:Shewentout,slammingthedoor.

  這樣使用的分詞的主語并不一定要與跟在后面的動詞的主語相同。它可以帶有自己的主語:Thedaybeingfine,wedecidedtogoswimming.
