Certificate Craze on Campus
In recent years, to get a certificate has become a new craze among college students. Just randomly ask a student on campus what he or she is busy doing, quite possibly, you may get the answer that he is preparing for a certificate of some kind. Why does this craze appear?
There are mainly two reasons behind this phenomenon. To begin with, it is the employment pressure that forces college students to get more certificates. With the admission expansion of colleges, a lot more graduates have to face the fierce competition in the job market. How can one make himself more competitive? More certificates at hand, maybe. Furthermore, diploma and certificates are still vital standards by which a good many employers measure a person’s ability. In order to increase the qualifications for a job, the students compel themselves to run from one exam to another.
From my point of view, we should be more rational when it comes to certificates, since certificates do not necessarily prove one’s ability. Being crazy in getting certificates blindly is nothing but wasting time. To conclude, we should focus on improving our ability but not getting a certificate of no practical value.

Mankind has brought so much pollution. Waste is being poured into rivers and seas. Poisons to kill pests in farming and chemicals go into rivers and seas, too. Poisonous gasses from factories also make the air so dirty. The whole balance of nature is being destroyed as a result of our ignorance of the environmental protection.
Personally, man can not live alone on the earth. Should fish die from serious pollution, so would man! It is high time we did something to prevent such a scene from happening.

一、研究背景
在實(shí)際教學(xué)中,我們發(fā)現(xiàn)傳統(tǒng)的文科教學(xué),在作文(包括英語(yǔ)作文)的批改上盛行著兩種方法:一是教師用刺眼的紅筆進(jìn)行“√”和“×”批閱,最后用一兩句不痛不癢的話稍作點(diǎn)評(píng);另一種則是教師經(jīng)常對(duì)學(xué)生的作文進(jìn)行面批。對(duì)于前者,幾乎所有人(包括進(jìn)行批改的教師)都認(rèn)為其效果甚微,這種簡(jiǎn)單但過(guò)于“粗放”的方式顯然已跟不上當(dāng)今的英語(yǔ)教學(xué);但對(duì)于后者,在肯定其效果以及教師的敬業(yè)心之時(shí),我們不得不為那超負(fù)荷的工作量給教師身心帶來(lái)的巨大壓力而擔(dān)心,同時(shí)也為他們?cè)谕庹Z(yǔ)教育和教學(xué)時(shí)間分配上的合理性感到憂慮。毫無(wú)疑問(wèn),作文批改已成為英語(yǔ)教師和其他文科教師最耗時(shí)和最疲憊的工作。而且,即使付出了許多時(shí)間和精力,其反饋效果還是不太理想,使得很多學(xué)生學(xué)了十多年的英語(yǔ),卻拿不出一篇通順像樣的作文。為此,筆者試圖從傳承與創(chuàng)新的角度,提出幾種想法,以求教于大方。
二、研究的內(nèi)容和方法
教師的批改和反饋不僅要給學(xué)生的作文一個(gè)等級(jí)或者分?jǐn)?shù),還要作出一種過(guò)程評(píng)價(jià)。只有充分體會(huì)到了寫作和反饋的過(guò)程,學(xué)生才能始終處于一種主動(dòng)的學(xué)習(xí)之中,反饋的效果才會(huì)更加趨向于合理化和理想化。因?yàn)閷W(xué)生寫作是一個(gè)過(guò)程,寫作后的反饋是寫作過(guò)程的延續(xù),學(xué)生寫作能力的提高與否同教師的反饋效果密切相關(guān)。由此可見(jiàn),有效批改和反饋的作用不言而喻。那么,如何對(duì)學(xué)生的作文進(jìn)行有效的批改和反饋呢?
1. 創(chuàng)造人性化的反饋環(huán)境,兼顧不同學(xué)生的寫作水平
所謂創(chuàng)造人性化的反饋環(huán)境是指教師應(yīng)該站在學(xué)生的`立場(chǎng)上,貼近每位學(xué)生的興趣、愛(ài)好和個(gè)性特長(zhǎng)因材施“評(píng)”。這不僅可以緩解學(xué)生思想上的壓力,還可以激發(fā)學(xué)生的寫作興趣。因此,對(duì)于寫作基礎(chǔ)較好的學(xué)生除了肯定之外還要給出改進(jìn)意見(jiàn);對(duì)于寫作基礎(chǔ)較差的學(xué)生,則應(yīng)采取鼓勵(lì)與指導(dǎo)相結(jié)合的方式——使用激勵(lì)性的語(yǔ)言樹立其自信心,并用商量的口氣予以指導(dǎo)。
(1)當(dāng)堂批改
學(xué)生剛寫好作文,對(duì)題目的理解、構(gòu)思、結(jié)構(gòu)、用詞造句等都還記憶猶新,若此時(shí)教師趁熱打鐵,當(dāng)堂指導(dǎo)學(xué)生進(jìn)行批改,就能產(chǎn)生很好的批改效果。如:以“How to Build a Harmonious Society?”為例,筆者根據(jù)對(duì)學(xué)生的了解,制訂了如下的當(dāng)堂批改方案。分別選出好、中、差各一篇作文(不署名且事先不告訴學(xué)生各篇作文的等級(jí)),通過(guò)教室投影放映給全班學(xué)生閱讀,然后通過(guò)電腦顯示提供評(píng)價(jià)標(biāo)準(zhǔn):作者的觀點(diǎn)是否明確;各段是否服務(wù)于該觀點(diǎn);段落間及段與段的連接是否合理、流暢;結(jié)尾是否做到了首尾呼應(yīng)或深化主題,或提出了解決問(wèn)題的建議等。再讓學(xué)生對(duì)照標(biāo)準(zhǔn),評(píng)價(jià)這三篇作文。這樣做的目的在于讓學(xué)生明白作文評(píng)分要從內(nèi)容(思想和材料)、語(yǔ)言和結(jié)構(gòu)三方面入手。接著要求學(xué)生對(duì)這三篇作文作總體反饋。學(xué)生的反饋與實(shí)際情況可能大相徑庭,不過(guò)教師恰好可以就這點(diǎn)進(jìn)行針對(duì)性的分析。然后,教師再進(jìn)行示范性的分析,分別指出三篇課堂習(xí)作中的優(yōu)缺點(diǎn)。這樣,不同層次的學(xué)生都有了參照,都有了發(fā)展的空間,也便于學(xué)生對(duì)自己的作文有更為深入的了解。
(2)彩色批改
傳統(tǒng)的做法是教師用紅筆批改學(xué)生作文中的錯(cuò)誤,然后給出分?jǐn)?shù)。紅筆批閱的內(nèi)容也就是錯(cuò)誤的內(nèi)容。殊不知,學(xué)生的心理是害怕紅色,甚至抵制紅色的。既然這樣,那何不換位思考一下呢? 不妨試著和學(xué)生進(jìn)行溝通,使用一些學(xué)生認(rèn)可的方法進(jìn)行批改。有些教師在批改學(xué)生作文時(shí),嘗試用綠色熒光筆畫出學(xué)生習(xí)作中的好詞好句,用紫色畫出學(xué)生在時(shí)態(tài)和搭配等方面的錯(cuò)誤。紫色的批改常側(cè)重在句子層面的錯(cuò)誤上,更易于學(xué)生進(jìn)行改錯(cuò)和加強(qiáng)記憶。實(shí)踐證明,用除紅色外的彩筆進(jìn)行修改,不會(huì)對(duì)學(xué)生造成視覺(jué)上的沖擊,可以緩解紅色的過(guò)度“警示作用”對(duì)學(xué)生自信的打擊。所以,彩色批改法不僅不傷害學(xué)生的自尊,而且還使教師和學(xué)生擺脫了審美疲勞。這種批改方法也可用于學(xué)生的相互批改中。
(3)符號(hào)批改
根據(jù)研究,教師的批改中有相當(dāng)一部分屬于“雞肋”,因?yàn)檫@些所謂的“錯(cuò)誤”僅僅是與教師的風(fēng)格不太吻合而已。如此“食而無(wú)味”的“雞肋”不僅不能提高學(xué)生的寫作水平,還有可能因此而改變了學(xué)生原想表達(dá)的意思。符號(hào)批改的出現(xiàn),既減輕了教師的負(fù)擔(dān),又給學(xué)生提供了思考的余地。學(xué)生由接受教師的既定觀點(diǎn)變成了主動(dòng)進(jìn)行探究性的學(xué)習(xí),使學(xué)生真正成為寫作的受益者。
