  Before I started at university,I took my first job as a waitress in a nice restaurant.At the night before my first day.I was too excited to go to sleep and as a result,I got up late in the morning.I threw on my clothes and rushed over to the restaurant.

  In a GREat hurry,I didn't hear clearly the head waiter's instruction that we should go into the kitchen through one door and out from the other.So when I took two plates of eggs and bacon and an orange juice out to the restaurant,I went straight towards the wrong door and collided with another waiter coming in!

  Worst of all was that I wore a pair of smart shoes but with high heels! A few hours later I was in agony yet had no time to change them. By the time we finished serving dinner at about 10:30 I was completely exhausted. Nevertheless, I learnt something through my experience.

  第一,我非常喜歡手機(jī)上有一個(gè)英語的PEP上面外教老師演的栩栩如生,讓我愛上學(xué)習(xí),愛上英語雨。學(xué)完之后還可以得到獎(jiǎng)勵(lì),就很有榮譽(yù)感,而且這種榮譽(yù)感是別人體會不到的。

  在快樂中學(xué)習(xí)不是一種很好的選擇嗎?可以讓我們在快樂中學(xué)到知識,在快樂中學(xué)知識,這樣的'感覺真好。而且只是一種視覺上的享受。我也比較喜歡學(xué)校上的英語課,英語張老師把一門枯燥的語言課,上成了活靈活現(xiàn)的英語課,老師在課上不僅會教我們知識,還會給我們普及一些課外的,比如說英語電影之類一些東西。

  Is It Up to Students to Evaluate Teachers?

  The past few years have witnessed a mounting number of universities allowing students to evaluate their teachers and even decide if they can stay on their positions or not. To this practice, peoples attitudes differ considerably. Some applaud it warmly whereas others criticize and even condemn it harshly.

  Proponents of the practice may list the following reasons. In the first place, they assert that students are the people who know the most clearly about the teaching performance of a teacher, so they should have the say in evaluating him or her. In the second place, they contend that students have paid for their education, so they have the right to decide which teacher should be employed.

  Opponents, however, point out that it is dangerous to leave the right to students to evaluate teachers. For one thing, students may not know what ought to be taught and how it should be taught; they may only judge a teacher according to his temper and even accent or appearance. For another, in order to please students, some teachers may resort to some improper means.

  Personally, I believe that both views are justifiable, and we should achieve a balance between them by employing the evaluating approach in a reasonable and beneficial way. To be specific, students should be allowed to evaluate their teachers, but they may not be the only decision-maker in the teachers fate.

  縱觀歷年來的考題,我們不難發(fā)現(xiàn)議論文占據(jù)著七成以上的比例,因此首先我們要掌握議論文的寫作要領(lǐng)。按照提綱進(jìn)行構(gòu)思,務(wù)必做到寫好每段的主題句和擴(kuò)展句。主題句是表達(dá)段落主題的句子,它闡明一個(gè)段落的中心思想,是段落的核心,段落中的其他各句都與它緊密相連并圍繞它展開。擴(kuò)展句就是解釋或者說明段落中心思想的句子。寫擴(kuò)展句時(shí)要注意條理性,比如引出三條不同的理由可以分別用:Firstofall,furthermore,thelastbutnottheleast。

  明確段落的寫作思路之后,讓我們具體來看句子的寫作?荚噷(shí)踐表明,多數(shù)考生在寫作上的主要欠缺不是系統(tǒng)的`寫作理論和方法,而是最基本的單句寫作能力。有些同學(xué)因?yàn)閷ψ陨淼膶?shí)力缺乏自信所以考場上采取抄襲閱讀文章里的句子這種方法來湊字?jǐn)?shù)。這種做法實(shí)不足取,因?yàn)橐环矫嫒菀妆桓木砝蠋煱l(fā)現(xiàn)而認(rèn)為該考生有偷懶的嫌疑,另一方面考生從閱讀文章里抄來的優(yōu)美句子和考生自己寫的錯(cuò)誤百出的句子拼湊在一起令文章整體有不和諧之感,從而令改卷老師懷疑該考生有作弊的嫌疑。通過句子寫作這一關(guān),可參考如下步驟:

  1.確保句子的正確性,即準(zhǔn)確表達(dá)思想而且沒有語法錯(cuò)誤。以"Therebe"句型為例,錯(cuò)誤的句子:Therearemanypeopleliketogotothemovies.正確表達(dá):Therearemanypeoplewholiketogotothemovies.考生最容易犯的錯(cuò)誤是在therebe之后又用了一個(gè)動(dòng)詞作謂語,使句子結(jié)構(gòu)出現(xiàn)嚴(yán)重錯(cuò)誤。除了要小心避免語法錯(cuò)誤外,我們也不能忽視作文中經(jīng)常出現(xiàn)的嚴(yán)重漢化的英語,即中式英語,比如:"Manisiron,andfoodissteel.","Womenarehalfsidesky."。如何克服漢化思維關(guān)鍵在于動(dòng)筆前先思考一下類似的英文句式,并且注意諺語的翻譯不能隨心所欲,盡量找到規(guī)范的翻譯方式。

  2.注意句式的多樣性,語言生動(dòng)且富于變換才能最終打動(dòng)評卷老師從而獲得高分。不能從頭到尾都是Iam…,heis…,Ilike…,這樣的簡單句。

  1)適當(dāng)運(yùn)用同位語,Environmentalpollution,aphenomenonwhichlastedanumberofyears,hasgrownmoreandmoreserious.推薦用于開頭對核心名詞做出解釋。

  2)倒裝,Onlyinthiswaycanwesolvetheproblem.建議最好使用在文章結(jié)尾處更顯得擲地有聲。

  3)無靈主語,即沒有生命的東西充當(dāng)主語。當(dāng)我們要講述一個(gè)經(jīng)驗(yàn)性的事實(shí)或者常理時(shí),不要過多使用“Ithinkthat”議論文中過多使用“I”容易影響文章的客觀性。使用無靈主語就可以解決這個(gè)問題Pastexperiencehastaughtusthatweshouldnotdependonothersforeverything.(Pastexperience就是無靈主語)

  4)排比,可以增強(qiáng)語言表達(dá)的力度和整個(gè)文章的氣勢。例如在95年1月的考題“Canmoneybuyhappiness”中運(yùn)用排比就可以收到比較理想的效果。Manypeopledieformoney,lieformoney,fightformoney,andevenselltheirsoulstotheDevilformoney.

  以上是講述寫好句子的方法,但因?yàn)榭紙錾蠒r(shí)間比較緊迫,所以建議考生務(wù)必在考前背誦一些常用的理由句以防在考場上臨時(shí)思路受阻而束手無策。如Itcanenrichourknowledgeandwidenourhorizon.或者Itcanincreasethegovernmentrevenueandrelievethepressureofunemployment.等等。

  僅僅學(xué)會寫議論文是不夠的,近兩年四級考試加大了應(yīng)用文和記敘文的考查力度,這就要求考生在熟悉議論文的基礎(chǔ)之上加強(qiáng)應(yīng)用文和記敘文的訓(xùn)練。應(yīng)用文主要考寫信,考生必須明確寫信的基本格式以及寫信的流程:
