嫦娥奔月(chang'e Flying to the Moon)是中國古代的美麗傳說。嫦娥是英雄人物后羿的妻子。在中國，嫦娥意味著月亮。源自對嫦娥的聯(lián)想，中華民族對月亮有著特殊的情感，這甚至影響了中國的方方面面。了解嫦娥的遭遇后，人們在月下設(shè)香案(incense burner table),祈求嫦娥幸運、平安。因此，中秋節(jié)拜月亮的習(xí)俗在民間非常流行。后來人們還創(chuàng)作了其他與月亮有關(guān)的傳說，如吳剛伐樹、玉兔搗藥。另外人們也喜歡在月餅上刻上這些故事的有趣圖案。

相傳，遠(yuǎn)古時候有一年，天上出現(xiàn)了十個太陽，直烤得大地冒煙，海水枯干，老百姓眼看無法再生活去。

Evening, Hou Yi returned home, maid cried the day they happened. Hou Yi both scared and angry, Using the Sword killed bad guys, but Peng Meng escaped early. Hou Yi distraught, looking up at the night sky, calling his beloved wife's name. Then he was surprised to find that today's moon is particularly bright and clear and beautiful, and there is a shadow of the figure resembling the Chang-e.
傍晚，后羿回到家，侍女們哭訴了白天發(fā)生的事。后羿既驚又怒，抽劍去殺惡徒，蓬蒙早逃走了。氣得后羿捶胸頓足哇哇大叫。悲痛欲絕的后羿，仰望著夜空呼喚愛妻的名字。這時他驚奇地發(fā)現(xiàn)，今天的月亮格外皎潔明亮，而且有個晃動的身影酷似嫦娥。
