  Relative Pronouns in the Attributive Clause

  Learning aims:

  1.Let students learn rules of the Attributive Clause and the relative pronouns: who, whom, which ,that, whose.

  2.Use them to express freely through practice.

  Difficult & important points:

  Let students grasp the usage of who, whom, which ,that, whose.

  Step1: Lead-in

  say hello to all the students.把下列句子分成兩層意思:

  (1) The one million people of the city, who thought little of these events,went to bed as usual that night.

  The one million people of the city went to bed as usual that night.The one million people of the city thought little of these events.

  (2) It was heard in Beijing, which is one hundred kilometers away.

  It was heard in Beijing.Beijing is one hundred kilometers away.

  (3) The number of people who were killed or Injured reached more than 400,000.

  The number of people reached more than 400, 000.Those people were killed or injured.

  Step2: the Attributive Clause

  定語從句概念:在句子中作定語,修飾名詞或代詞的從句。這種從句由關(guān)系代詞或關(guān)系副詞引導(dǎo),并作句子成分。定語從句中的關(guān)系代詞:(1)指人:who(主語、賓語),whom(賓語),that(主語、賓語), whose(定語)

 。2)指物:that(主語、賓語),which(主語、賓語)? whose(定語)

  被定語從句限定的詞是“先行詞”,引導(dǎo)定語從句的詞叫做“關(guān)系代詞”或“關(guān)系副詞”。關(guān)系代詞和關(guān)系副詞有三大作用:即連接(連接定語從句和主句)、替代(替代前面的先行詞)、成分(在定語從句中要充當(dāng)一定的句子成分)。關(guān)系代詞的用法

 。1)who指人,作主語或賓語(作賓語可省略)

  The man who I talked with is our teacher.

  翻譯:和我談話的那個(gè)人,是我的老師。

 。2)whom指人,作賓語(作賓語可省略,如介詞提前則不能省)

  The man (whom/who) I nodded to is Mr. Li.

  (3)which指物作主語或賓語(作賓語可省略,如介詞提前則不能省)

  These are the trees which were planted last year.

  翻譯:這些是去年種植的樹。

  This recorder(which)he is using is made in Japan.

  翻譯:這個(gè)他正在使用的錄音機(jī)是日本產(chǎn)的。

  (4)that指人/物,作主語或賓語(作賓語可省略)

  A plane is a machine that can fly.

  He is the man (that/who/whom) I told you about.

  (5)whose在定從中作定語,表所屬關(guān)系,翻譯為“他的/她的/它的”,用來代替his,its,her,their。

  whose指人也指物。指物時(shí)= of which??指人時(shí)= of whom

  A、This is the book whose cover is blue.

  B、This is the book of which the cover is blue.

  C、This is the book the cover of which is blue

  6.如何選擇關(guān)系代詞?

  who ,whom, whose, which, that

  口訣:前看先行詞,辯清人或物,后看從句里,有無主賓語

  Step3:Practice

  用適當(dāng)?shù)年P(guān)系代詞填空:

  This is the house_______was built last year. This is the house _______was built last year The car_____my uncle had just bought was destroyed in the earthquake. That is the man_______we were looking for.

  Step4:Homework

  This is the film which I saw last night. Here are two pictures that are taken from the film. This is the film whose name is Titanic . The man and the woman whom you see in the picture are Jack and Lucy . Jack and Lucy are the hero and the heroine who loved each other very much in the film .

  教學(xué)反思:

  1、作為教師,應(yīng)該了解學(xué)生在學(xué)習(xí)中困惑從而為自己制定教學(xué)目標(biāo)提供依據(jù),同時(shí)也能極大地刺激學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)情緒,滿足他們的`學(xué)習(xí)欲,形成師生之間愉悅的課堂氛圍。

  2、在英語教學(xué)中教師要有意識(shí)地逐漸培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的合作學(xué)習(xí)能力。例如,培養(yǎng)學(xué)生學(xué)會(huì)如何表達(dá)自己的觀點(diǎn)、學(xué)會(huì)傾聽他人的意見、學(xué)會(huì)討論問題、認(rèn)識(shí)小組合作學(xué)習(xí)的重要性等。

  3、要求學(xué)生及時(shí)預(yù)習(xí)新的內(nèi)容并對自己的學(xué)習(xí)情況及時(shí)進(jìn)行反思與總結(jié),讓學(xué)生養(yǎng)成良好的學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣。
