　　In this period we’re going to learn the reading passage in detail.?

　　1. Learn and master the following words and expressions:

　　Greet the whole class as usual.

　　1Have the students practise syllable stress by grouping the words according to where the stress falls.

　　2Ask the students to group the words individually.

　　3Put the students in pairs to compare their answers.

　　4Call back the answers from the class.

　　The teacher gets four students to give their answers:

　　First syllable: army, data, lecturer, military, network, scientist, system, browser?

　　Second syllable: accessible, consist, create, defence, develop, majority, percentage?

　　Third syllable: academic, university?

　　Fourth syllable: communication, millionaire, organisation?

　　e. g. Coal consists mostly of carbon.

　　煤大部分由碳組成

　　This club consists of more than 200 members.

　　3. It then became possible for universities to use the system as well.?

　　后許多大學(xué)也使用這個(gè)網(wǎng)絡(luò)

　　as well(as)意思是“也,又”

　　e. g. He knows German as well.?他也懂德

　　5. At the moment, about 80% of web traffic is in English, but this percentage is going down.

　　目前大約80% 的網(wǎng)絡(luò)通信業(yè)務(wù)都是用英語(yǔ),但是這一比率正在下降

　　(1)at the moment (用于現(xiàn)在時(shí)態(tài)中)此刻;(用于過(guò)去時(shí)態(tài)中)那時(shí)

　　e. g. I am (was) busy at the moment.

　　我此刻(當(dāng)時(shí))很忙
